The Scoop’s

Featured Student Writer Program

Do you love to write, but have no venue to display your talents?

If this describes you, you are a candidate to submit your *short stories or articles to The Scoop’s monthly newsletter!

The Shorecrest Scoop is looking for short stories or school related articles to be written and submitted by SC students! Do you love to write? Report on interesting things happening in your school or community? We are featuring one student’s piece of work per issue (monthly). In addition to having your work published in an issue of The Scoop, the piece of work that meets our short story guidelines or (for school related articles) is the most timely, covers the most important content, and concisely provides the “who, what, when, where, and why” will be chosen by The Scoop Student Writings Committee and Mrs. Etter. The winner(s) are eligible to WIN ONE OF TWO GRAND PRIZES, sponsored by the Shorecrest PTSA.

The requirements for each writing piece are:

  1. To be between 250-300 words
  2. Is appropriate (*short story – something you would feel comfortable turning in to a teacher)
  3. Covers an important school–related or teen event/issue (article)
  4. To be timely – covering current or future issues or events
  5. To provide all important or necessary details
  6. Include your name and grade
  7. Be submitted via email to communications@shorecrestptsa.org*

Please contact Tiffany Bengston at communications@shorecrestptsa.org with any questions.

*If you are unable to submit your entry via email (preferred method), please print your article/writing and submit it to the PTSA box in the Shorecrest Main Office. You must also include the date when submitting a printed copy.
